Wataniya not put off by premium downturn

Wataniya Airways CEO, George Cooper, announced in early Nov-08 that the carrier has no plans to defer its launch of operations in Kuwait from its Jan-09 target, despite the ongoing global financial crisis. The premium-focused carrier's CEO stated that while it may have been easier for the carrier to have launched services during a "less volatile" period, it is pushing ahead despite the present uncertainty. The carrier recently completed hiring of both pilots and cabin crew for its launch phase.
