Wataniya Airways requests halt in trading

Wataniya Airways, which ceased operations this on 16-Mar-2011 month, reported a loss of KWD14.1 million (USD50.9 million) and stated its Board has proposed that no dividends be distributed for 2010. Parent Kuwait National Airways has requested the Kuwait bourse halt trading of its shares.

African Development Bank's (AfDB) board of directors approved (23-Mar-2011) a USD40 million second lien corporate loan to Ethiopian Airlines to support the purchase of five B777-200LR passenger aircraft. As part of the Ethiopian Airlines' investment plan for 2010-2018, the aircraft will replace old aircraft and expand its capacity on long-haul routes to and from Africa.

In trading on Thursday, shares in Royal Jordanian and Kenya Airways were down significantly. Jazeera Airways stock rose 1.7%.
