Wanted: New President for Thai Airways - airline share wrap

Thai Airways has extended the cut-off for applications for the post of President vacated by Apinan Sumanaseni. Would-be applicants are advised the airline is in a liquidity crisis, labour unrest is brewing and government intervention in strategy is inevitable. Applications now close on 06-Mar-09.

Thai Airways' share price fell a further 3.9% yesterday.

Elsewhere, Virgin Blue shares fell 3.9% as Jetstar removed all its remaining international fuel surcharges, sending Qantas shares 1.1% higher.
