Vietnam Airlines CEO: A321neo First Delivery Delayed Until At Least Dec-2018, Regional Jet Wet Leases To Fill Capacity Void

Vietnam Airlines CEO Duong Tri Thanh discusses delays in A321neo deliveries, growth projects for 2018 and market conditions in Vietnam. Delivery of the airline’s first A321neo has been postponed from 1Q2018 to Dec-2018 and could potentially be pushed to 2019. Vietnam Airlines plans to wet lease regional jets this summer to provide interim additional capacity and to help the airline evaluate potential new aircraft types. Vietnam Airlines has 20 A321ceos on order and still expects to receive all 20 aircraft by the end of 2019.
