Kenneth Bryan:Good morning, everybody. Good morning. I know you guys were out partying on the beach last night, so hope you've had your coffee and ready to change the world. Um, to my chief officer, my director, and all my partners here in the room, good morning to you. All of our distinguished airline leaders, aviation experts, international delegates, esteemed guests, local tourism partners. Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. Am I getting your feedback? A little bit? A little bit? That's just to wake you up. In my capacity as the Deputy Premier and the Minister of Tourism and Ports, it is both my honour and my privilege to stand before you today as the destination host for the 2025 CAPA Airline Leaders Summit for the Americas. On behalf of the Government of the Cayman Islands, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to each and every one of you. I particularly want to acknowledge our delegates, our speakers, and guests who have travelled from overseas and say to each and every one of you, Welcome to Grand Cayman, where the crystal waters meet endless blue skies, and where aviation is the very pulse of our tourism industry's heartbeat. Today, we're not merely conveying a conference, ladies and gentlemen. We're creating a think tank of the most brilliant minds in aviation. I'm speaking about you, by the way. Thank you. Who are poised to chart the future of our travel across the hemisphere and beyond. The Cayman Islands understands the transformative power of aviation. We are a small cluster of 3 little islands geographically positioned in the Caribbean Sea, yet globally connected through the wonder of the air transportation industry. Every aircraft that lands on our runways carries more than just passengers. It brings dreams, it brings opportunities, economic potential, and more importantly, international connections. Let me paint a picture of our aviation reality for you. The story of the Cayman Islands is intricately linked to aviation. From the first international flights in the mid-20th century to today's sophisticated air transportation network, aviation has been an avenue through which our islands have grown and has prospered. From— we began with a modest airstrip, our Owen Roberts International Airport has evolved into a world-class transportation hub with the capacity to carry 2.5 million passengers per annum, and connecting to over 30 international destinations across North America, Europe, and the Caribbean. Over the years, we have deliberately positioned ourselves as not only a travel destination but as a strategic aviation hub. Our modern air traffic management systems, our commitment to safety, and our regulatory standards and our progressive aviation policies have made the Cayman Islands an attractive location for airlines, charter services, and international aviation businesses. This is because the Cayman Islands— for us, air connectivity is not just a luxury, it's truly our lifeline. In 2023, tourism-related industries contributed to over $386 million into our little small economy, accounting for 6.8% of our GDP. And much of those tourism dollars began with a flight. And we are acutely aware of the economic stability is vitally linked to innovation and the resilience of the global aviation industry. In 2025, we're now finding ourselves at a pivotal moment in history. The aviation landscape has undergone unprecedented transformations. The competitive dynamics are more complex than they ever have been before. Network strategies are being reimagined in real time, responding to capacity challenges and changing market demands. But complexity brings forth opportunities for us all. And this is where the true power of this Summit will reveal itself. We are not solely here to discuss the challenges, ladies and gentlemen, but we are here to solve them. We are seeing the fundamental shifts in aviation regulations, funding approaches, environmental commitments, and international trade policies that will reshape how we understand air travel industries. On that note, I want us to emphasize 3 strategic priorities that I believe we should guide ourselves in these discussions. One, connectivity. Beyond route planning, we must reimagine connectivity, how we create air transportation networks that are not only economically viable but also socially and environmentally responsible? How do we ensure that emerging destinations like those within the Caribbean context are not just left behind the global shifts? Number 2, sustainability. Climate change is not a future threat. It is now a present reality for us all, especially for small island states like the Cayman Islands. The aviation industry must be at the forefront of environmentally friendly innovations. We need more— we need to be more specific, actionable strategies that reduce carbon footprints while maintaining the incredible global mobility that air travel We are witnessing a technological revolution within this industry. The challenge before you, ladies and gentlemen, is how we harness these innovations strategically and equitably. So, the Cayman Islands sits at a crossroads of North and South America's aviation routes, making us an ideal location for this critical summit today, because we understand that aviation is more about— more than just transportation. It's about connection, understanding, and more importantly, shared progress. And so, to our international guests in the room today, I offer you more than just a welcome. I offer you a true partnership. The Cayman Islands is not just a beautiful, warm destination. We are a strategic collaborator in the industry, a testing ground for innovative solutions, and a bridge between major global markets. To our airline leaders in the room, our aviation experts, our international delegates, I challenge you to think outside the box. Let your discussions be bold. Let your vision be clear and let your commitment to progress be absolute. May your conversations over the next 2 days not only analyze the industry but transform it. I wish you all a very insightful 2 days with productivity, but more importantly, the most memorable summit of your life here in our lovely home. of the Cayman Islands. God bless you and good morning. Thank you.
