US airline stocks rebound on Monday

Analysis

US airline stocks enjoyed solid gains on Monday following a sell-off last week. Republic and Delta gained the most (+4.3% and 4.2%, respectively), while US Airways erased some of Friday's losses.

The NYSE Arca Airline Index gained nearly 1% to 46.45 points with 10 of its 13 components trading up. The sector benchmark lost nearly 7% last week against a less than 1% decline for the Standard & Poor's 500 Index.
