Syria's Government has given initial approval to the Ministry of Transport to work with the private sector to operate, develop and modernise the country's airport infrastructure. The Middle East is a region where airport privatisation lags behind most other regions but the drive towards privatisation by a variety of means in Saudi Arabia at least indicates that opportunities like this will arise occasionally. Having said that, Syria has barely registered on the radar in the past. What does Syria offer to the private sector?
