A late Jan-09 equipment failure has provided another trigger for the ongoing disagreements between the Australian Air Navigation Services Provider, Airservices Australia, and the air traffic controllers (ATCO) union, Civil Air. A computer failure in the processing of flight data plans saw all flights between Brisbane and Cairns, on Australia's busy eastern air corridor, grounded for more than an hour.
