Resolution of controller dispute in sight for the US' FAA
The three-year industrial dispute between the US Department of Transportation (DoT) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), on one side, and US Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs), on the other, could be over by the middle of Aug-2009. The FAA and the US National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) presented their cases and arguments regarding a new labour agreement to a specially formed three-member mediation panel on 06-Jul-2009. The panel is due to issue a binding decision on the dispute within 30 days.
