Premium Analysis

WestJet reported a passenger load factor of 82.6% in Feb-09 (-0.2 ppts), as traffic (RPMs) increased 5.5% year-on-year on a 5.7% capacity (ASMs) increase. The LCC’s international expansion and continued focus on transborder routes have been key to driving the growth in traffic. CEO, Sean Durfy, stated, “our strong load factor is, in part, a reflection of our growth into Mexico and the Caribbean.”
