Wataniya Airways: successful launch of operations

Wataniya Airways launched services on 24-Jan-09 with a twice-daily Kuwait-Dubai service. It is one of only a handful of short-haul premium-focused airlines to be launched internationally in several years. A premium-focused Australian entrant, OzJet, lasted only a matter of months in 2005/06. Unlike OzJet, Wataniya offers a two-class service. According to the airline’s Chairman, Abdulsalam Al Bahar, Wataniya targets “discerning travellers who value a higher level of service and comfort.”
