New Embraer facility to be constructed at Bradley International Airport

Embraer broke ground on 24-Jul-07 for its second new executive

jets service centre in the US at Bradley International Airport, in Windsor Locks,

Connecticut, just three weeks after a groundbreaking ceremony was held at Williams

Gateway Airport, in Mesa, Arizona. The new facility, scheduled for completion

in mid-2008, is dedicated to full-service care for Embraer's Phenom 100, Phenom

300 and Legacy 600 executive jets.

"Today's ground breaking marks another chapter in Embraer's commitment to provide first-class service and product support to our increasing customer base," says Frederico Fleury Curado, Embraer President and CEO. "And this is not the end. We will soon begin construction of a third purpose-built, factory owned-and-operated service centre in Ft Lauderdale, Florida."

"With this second new factory-owned service centre, of the three planned for the US, our goal is to develop a highly competitive infrastructure in the Northeast that will meet the expectations of the business jet market," said Edson Carlos Mallaco, Embraer's Senior Vice President, Aviation Services.

Partners in the Embraer project include the State of Connecticut, the Bradley International Airport, and the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The 45,000-square-foot (4,181-square-meter) Embraer facility will consist of a hangar, workshops and office space, for an estimated investment of around USD10 million.

The architectural and engineering firm, Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon of Nashville, Tennesee, is designing the new facility, located on five acres of land (20,234 square meters), with an option for five additional acres.

The establishment of the Executive Jets service centre network owned and operated by Embraer in the US will also include a third location at Ft Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport, Ft Lauderdale, Florida, where a groundbreaking ceremony will take place in August. The investment for all three new facilities will total about USD40 million.

Each service centre facility will be capable of providing full-service aircraft care, including routine inspection, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and airframe, power plant, avionics, and other systems repairs, 24/7 assistance, Aircraft On Ground (AOG) rescue team, and an inventory of expendable and repairable parts.
