LCC CEOs to lead discussions at CAPA North Asia LCC Summit, Tokyo, Jun-7/8-2016
Leaders of North Asia’s low cost carriers (LCCs) will gather in Narita on Jun-7/8 for CAPA’s North Asia LCC Summit.
Hosted by Narita Airport, the Summit marks 12 years of CAPA’s flagship series of LCC events in Asia and marks CAPA’s second return to Japan.
Featuring over 40 speakers, including senior executives from all of North Asia's LCCs, and with simultaneous translation in English, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin, the Summit will explore the commercial drivers for LCC growth in this region, as the market opens.
North Asia has yet to experience the rapid expansion of LCCs that has occurred in Southeast Asia - but that is changing quickly.
Specific topics for discussion include:
- Regulation and cross-border JVs
- Individual outlook on the Japan, Greater China and Korea LCC markets including international vs domestic expansion; consolidation, competition, subsidiaries, access opportunities
- Opportunities for long haul and foreign lccs flying to/from North Asia
- Airport privatisation in Japan
- Improving the airport passenger experience across North Asia
- Technology, personalisation and Big Data
- Travel distribution challenges and ancillary optimisation opportunities
- The LCC potential for cargo operations
The Summit will attract over 250 attendees including airlines, airports, tourism authorities, and regulators from North Asia and beyond. The event features over 40 speakers.
In addition, there will be a strong focus on LCC development in the host country, Japan, beginning with presentations from the official event airline partner ANA on their LCC brand strategy, followed by individual presentations from Peach Aviation, Vanilla Air and Jetstar Japan.
Narita Airport will also be hosting a Welcome reception and Gala dinner, as well as conducting a site tour of their new LCC Terminal 3 as part of the conference activities.
