Indian civil aviation flies from strength to strength; domestic pax almost double in past five years

Airline traffic growth in India remained in the double digits in Feb-2011 with growth of 18.5% in the month and year-to-date growth of 19.6% to 9.5 million. This marks two consecutive Februarys of traffic growth with domestic traffic almost doubling from Feb-2006 levels and growth of 94% over the past five years. Domestic traffic is now some 37% above Feb-2009 levels, 28% above Feb-2008 levels and 40% above Feb-2007.
