FAA's slot auction controversy continues

The ongoing US Department of Transportation (DoT)/Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) effort to conduct auction of landing slots at New York metropolitan airports has taken another step forward, despite significant industry opposition. The FAA announced in early Nov-08 that it plans to commence the auctions on 12-Jan-09, just eight days before the new US Obama administration is sworn in.
