Dragonair reports strong November traffic growth

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) - Dragonair reports total passenger numbers in Nov-05 rose 9.7% year-on-year to 440,416, while cargo volume increased 6.6% to a monthly record 35,529 tonnes.

"The overall travel market is becoming more price sensitive, which continues to place pressure on yields. This, combined with the high price of oil, is making for a more difficult environment at the operating level. And unfortunately we expect these factors to persist in 2006," Stanley Hui, CEO, Dragonair.

Meanwhile, Dragonair plans to operate 109 additional services, including charter services, over the six-week Christmas and Lunar New Year holiday period, including Taipei and Shanghai, which will see the biggest increases.
