Cambodia Aviation Part 2: Bassaka Air and Sky Angkor Air expand with focus on Cambodia-China market
Competition is intensifying in Cambodia's airline sector as airlines expand with a focus on the fast growing Cambodia-China market. There are now four airlines in Cambodia, a significant number given the relatively small size of the market, with at least one more preparing to launch services.
Cambodia's commercial aircraft fleet has doubled in size over the past two years. Further expansion from the Cambodian airline sector is expected in 2016 but there will be challenges as the rate of market growth slows, particularly at Siem Reap.
This is Part 2 in a series of reports on Cambodia. The first instalment analysed the overall growth in Cambodia's international market. The next two reports focus on the Cambodian airline sector. Part 2 provides a focus on two of Cambodia's airlines, Sky Angkor Air and Bassaka Air.
