Aengus Kelly appointed CEO of AerCap Holdings
AerCap Holdings NV announced the appointment of Aengus Kelly as CEO, succeeding Klaus Heinemann, effective 18-May-2011.
- Aengus Kelly has been appointed as the new CEO of AerCap Holdings NV, replacing Klaus Heinemann.
- Heinemann has chosen not to renew his contract and has retired from his position as CEO and Member of the Board of Directors.
- Kelly has been responsible for AerCap's operations in North and South America since 2008.
- Kelly previously served as the Group Treasurer of AerCap and has extensive experience in aviation leasing and financing.
- AerCap's shares remained unchanged following the announcement.
- This leadership change comes as part of AerCap's ongoing strategic management decisions.
Mr Heinemann, who had chosen not to renew his contract as CEO and Member of the Board of Directors, has also retired as a Member of the Board of Directors.
Mr Kelly has been responsible for AerCap's operations in North and South America as CEO of AerCap Inc since 2008. Prior to this appointment, he was the Group Treasurer of AerCap. He started his career in the aviation leasing and financing business with Guinness Peat Aviation (GPA) in 1998 and has continued working with its successors AerFi in Ireland and debis AirFinance and AerCap in Amsterdam and Florida. Prior to joining GPA in 1998, he spent three years with KPMG in Dublin.
AerCap's shares were flat yesterday.
