Norwegian Air up, Aer Lingus slides and SAS may have more upside: European share price wrap

Analysis

After announcing strong growth - but reduced load factors - last week, Oslo-based LCC, Norwegian Air Shuttle performed well yesterday, up 8%, and Aer Lingus, still buffeted by Ryanair's bidding and hints of an alternative strategy for the LCC, made the weakest showing of the day, falling 4.1%. Ryanair continues to show strength, with a 4.3% rise.

Meanwhile, Air France-KLM and SAS (up 3.8% yesterday) have yet to see what the market will think about after-close suggestions that Paris head office may be a bidder for the Scandinavian flag carrier, up against Lufthansa.

European selected airlines daily share price movements (% change): 13-Jan-09
