Lufthansa rises as it evaluates its acquisitions, Air France gains, British Airways dips

Lufthansa's shares rose 1.0% yesterday, as the carrier reportedly announced plans to sell its 80% stake in loss-making bmi. Lufthansa's CEO also reportedly met with EU Competition Commissioner, Neelie Kroes, to discuss competition concerns related to Lufthansa's proposed takeover of Austrian Airlines. Although the parties are yet to reach an agreement, shares in Austrian rose 1.7%.

Shares in Air France-KLM gained 1.4% as the Paris CAC Index closed 1.63% higher yesterday.

Elsewhere, British Airways' shares dipped 0.8%, while the London FSTE closed 1.25% higher.
