Jet Airways hit by fuel, international start-up costs


Jet Airways reported heavy losses in its fiscal third quarter (ended 31-Dec-07), due to historically high fuel prices, which added USD15.5 million in costs, at a time when the airline is rapidly expanding its long-haul network. Average staff numbers increased from 9,780 to 11,910 on account of the international expansion, adding further pressure to earnings. [444 words]
