Impressive speaker line-up confirmed for Mumbai LCC Symposium

Analysis

SYDNEY (Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation) -  India's Minister of Civil Aviation, Praful Patel, will deliver the Keynote Address to open the Second Annual Indian Subcontinent & Middle East Low Cost Airline Symposium in Mumbai on 6-7 October 2005.

Meanwhile, other Keynote Addresses will be given by Nilotpal Basu and Michael Roach. An international perspective will be provided by Michael Roach, Co-Founder and Former President of America West Airlines, who will address the crisis faced by legacy carriers in North America and suggest how a similar situation be avoided in India and the Middle East.

Nilotpal Basu, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Civil Aviation, will challenge the current privatisation process of Delhi and Mumbai airports. Mr Basu is Upper House Head of the Marxist Party in India, which maintains that its policy does not oppose development of aviation, but instead proposes an alternative path which it believes would better suit India's national interest.

LCC interest in India has reached an all-time high, creating a ground-swell of interest from the highest levels of aviation to speak at the Symposium, organised by the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation:
