GOL reports soaring demand; flybe revenue stronger in 4Q2010
GOL reported a 5.9% increase in demand across its route network for Jan-2011. The carrier has a consolidated load factor of 75.6%, while domestic load factors were 77.7%.
Shares in the carrier rose 4.4%.
AirAsia announced it has deferred delivery of 10 A320s until 2015. The carrier reduced the number of aircraft scheduled to be delivered in 2012 from 24 to 12, with aircraft planned for 2015 delivery consequently increasing from 9 to 19. It will not incur any penalties for revising the delivery schedule. The carrier has deferred the delivery to provide it with more flexibility as it plans to switch from its current order of the classic A320 to the new A320neo in the near future. The carrier ordered 175 A320s in 2005.
Shares in AirAsia finished 0.4% lower at the close of trading on Friday.
flybe reported a 1.5% increase in revenue for the three months to 31-Dec-2011, despite passenger numbers falling 1.2% in the period. Higher ancillary fees helped the carrier's revenues, offsetting the affect of poor winter weather, which cost it GBP6 million due to cancelled flights. Shares in flybe rose 1.3%.
