Delta, US Air, Continental, American and United soar – stock wrap

Analysis

The AMEX Airline Index soared 6.3% on Friday, as oil prices fell a further 0.3% to below USD70 per barrel and better than expected US retail sales data were released for Nov-2009.

Delta surged 13.9% to USD11.25, while American Airlines gained 9.2% to USD7.69. United Airlines gained 8.1% to USD10.99, while Continental (+9.5%) and US Airways (+10.5%) also enjoyed big gains.

FedEx failed to join the party, easing 0.1%
