Athens ready for IPO after strong 2006 results

Athens International Airport (AIA) reported positive financial

results for 2006, using International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for

the first time. Operating revenues and Airport Development Fund (ADF) payments

for the 12 months ended 31-Dec-06 rose 7.8%, boosted by improved performance

of commercial activities and a 5.6% increase in passenger traffic to a record

15.1 million. Operating expenses increased only 3.3%, leading to an 11.8% rise

in EBITDA. Pre-tax profit surged 66.9%.
