ANA profits surge, KAL sinks

All Nippon Airways (ANA) reported a doubling of net profit in the 12 months ended 31-Mar-08, thanks largely to extraordinary gains from the sale of hotel properties. Domestic yields rose 3.5% and international 5.9%, but operating profits eased 8.5% as fuel costs surged, resulting in an operating margin for the year of 5.7%.
