American Airlines awards catering contract to Alpha for UK airports

The Board of Alpha announced that, following competitive tender,

it has secured a three and a half year extension, commencing 01-Jan-08, to its

contract with American Airlines for in-flight catering services for all of the

airline's services from London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports.

As well as the Heathrow and Gatwick extensions, American Airlines has additionally awarded Alpha a three and a half year contract, also effective from 01-Jan-08, for all its in-flight catering requirements from Manchester Airport.

Commenting on the contract awards, Peter Williams, Chief Executive of Alpha said: "This is an excellent result for Alpha and we are delighted to have extended our relationship with American Airlines. The contracts at Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester are testament to Alpha's reputation for service excellence as well as the strength of the relationship between Alpha and American Airlines. These new contracts reinforce Alpha's position as a leading service provider to the world's airlines."
