Air Arabia Egypt to launch Alexandia-Beirut service; African shares across the board

Air Arabia's (-2.2%) joint venture with the Travco Group, Air Arabia Egypt, announced plans to launch Alexandria-Beirut service in Jul-2010. The carrier will be the sole operator on the route.

Meanwhile, Jazeera Airways (-1.8%) fell on Thursday (24-Jun-2010) while Kuwait National Airways and Royal Jordanian Airlines remained flat.

African shares were mixed, with Lonrho (-4.1%) down and Comair (+0.5%), Kenya Airways (+2.1%) and 1time (+2.8%) up, while the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (-0.7%) fell for a third day.
