Alexandria Borg el Arab Airport
Borg El Arab Airport serves the city of Alexandria and the surrounding Nile Delta metropolitan region in northern Egypt. Borg El Arab is one of two airports in Alexandria, the other being the more central, Alexandria El Nouzha Airport. El Nouzha Airport has been closed since 2010 to allow for major redevelopment. All traffic now operates from Borg El Arab. Located 40 km south-west of central Alexandria, Borg El Arab Airport is the primary airport for the metropolitan area, The airport has been successful in attracting LCCs from across the region, with Air Arabia Egypt based at the airport.
