Air Arabia Egypt launched, Royal Jordanian commences Amman-Kuala Lumpur service

Air Arabia launched Air Arabia Egypt at a ceremony in Cairo yesterday. Air Arabia's operations from Egypt will commence on the Alexandria-Khartoum service and the carrier will initially operate two A320s. Further destinations will be announced shortly.

Royal Jordanian's (-4.2%) shares dropped back yesterday. The carrier launched three times weekly Amman-Kuala Lumpur service yesterday following a seven-year hiatus. In other Middle East news, Jazeera dropped (-1.4%) while Kuwait National Airways remained steady.

In African shares, Comair (-4%) fell, Kenya Airways rose (0.9%) while Lonrho and 1time's share prices were stable.
