Abu Dhabi International passenger traffic growth slowing, despite increasing aircraft movements

Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADIA) reported its slowest growth in passenger traffic in several years last month. Passenger traffic rose only 2.5% year on-year in Aug-2009, to 892,000 passengers, following a 10.3% increase in Jul-2009, to 923,124 passengers. The airport is however coming off a much stronger base, with growth rates last year exceeding 20%.
