East Midlands Airport reported strong cargo momentum in FY2025/26, including 37,732 tonnes handled in Dec-2025 (+37.1% YoY) and 313,615 tonnes since Apr-2024, supported by demand from India, southwest/central Asia and the UAE and capacity constraints at other gateways1. The airport also cited 44,280 tonnes of additional cargo since Apr-2025, despite more than 1300 fewer freight movements, driven by route shifts, new aircraft and more Asia/US flying2.
