World Bank to recommend global levy on jet fuel for environment

World Bank is considering a global levy on jet and shipping fuel in its recommendations to G20 governments later this year, as part of a package to raise finance for climate change initiatives (Reuters, 05-Jun-2011). The levy would be collected nationally. Global aviation emissions are not limited or measured under Kyoto.
