Wizz Air estimated an average of 35 grounded aircraft in FY2026 due to Pratt & Whitney GTF engine inspections, down from 44 in FY2025, and stated it was contractually obliged to carry more than twice the usual number of spare engines. Its selection agreement with Pratt & Whitney was expected to provide access to additional engines, with the return of the grounded fleet anticipated in FY20271.
