CUPE 8125 reported WestJet flight attendants issued a formal notice of dispute after more than seven months of negotiations that had not produced sufficient progress on key issues, with the union seeking improvements to scheduling and working conditions1. CUPE 8125 also stated flight attendants voted 99.4% in favour of strike action, covering 4400 employees, and said job action could begin from 02-Aug-2026 after a 21 day cooling-off period2.
