Western Australia’s Government previously extended and funded airfare affordability measures, including the Affordable Airfares programme for a seventh consecutive year, supporting Airnorth, Nexus Airlines, Qantas and Virgin Australia on routes linking Perth with Broome, Kununurra and Exmouth.1 It also scaled up the Regional Airfare Zone Cap scheme, allocating AUD64.6 million to extend it to end-2025 and reporting more than 360,000 capped fares flown in the first two years.2 3
