Virginia is the 15th state to offer digital IDs compatible with TSA's credential authentication technology, following West Virginia's recent adoption, which allows travellers to use mobile driver licences at checkpoints across the US1. On 07-May-2025, the US TSA will enforce REAL ID requirements, allowing only compliant licences for official purposes, including boarding commercial aircraft2. The TSA is currently accepting mobile driver's licences issued by 11 states at 27 participating airports3.
