The European Commission conditionally approved Safran's acquisition of part of Collins Aerospace's actuation business, requiring Safran to divest its entire North American trimmable horizontal stabiliser actuator (THSA) operation to address competition concerns; this divestment includes facilities in the US, Canada, and assets in Mexico1. The UK's Competition and Markets Authority also reviewed similar undertakings by Safran to resolve its own competition concerns relating to THSA systems2.
