US Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the FAA imposed summer 2026 scheduling reductions at Chicago O'Hare to cap peak-day movements at 2708, citing unrealistic schedules and aiming to avoid widespread delays.1 United cut more than 9000 summer departures (a 7.6% reduction) after the FAA limits.2 United also postponed planned O'Hare launches to Champaign, Rochester and Kalamazoo to 01-Jun-2026 due to capacity uncertainty.3 4 5
