United Airlines: Planned aircraft acquisition will require USD23.6 bn in capital expenditures

United Airlines stated (21-Jun-2013) it expects the company's planned aircraft acquisitions, additional spare engines and aircraft improvements will require USD23.6 billion in capital expenditures, as at 19-Jun-2013. The figure can be broken down as follows:

  • 2013: USD1.1 billion in remaining capital expenditures;
  • 2014: USD2.5 billion;
  • 2015: USD2 billion;
  • 2016: USD2.4 billion;
  • 2017: USD1.4 billion;
