United Airlines, Continental stall merger discussions after shares disagreement

United Airlines and Continental Airlines reportedly disagreed on the value of the stock prices used to compute the exchange ratio in a stock-for-stock merger deal (Bloomberg/timesofindia.indiatimes.com, 26-Apr-2010). Continental is pushing for a ratio based on stock prices before 07-Apr-2010 while United is seeking a later date after its shares outperformed Continental's.
