Unite to decide on Easter strike action by 17-Apr-2011

British Airways and Unite union have until 17-Apr-2011 to reach an agreement to end the threat of strike action by cabin crew over the Easter holiday (Travel Weekly, 11-Apr-2011). Unite has until 17-Apr-2011 to announce industrial action in line with legal requirements following a ballot concluded on 28-Mar-2011. They are required to name the dates of any action within seven days of that deadline or forfeit the right to strike without yet another ballot. The dispute centres on disciplinary action and sanctions against crew who took part in 22 days of strikes in spring 2010 over the imposition of new in-flight working arrangements.
