UK passengers not offsetting carbon emissions from flights

UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) found only 7% of passengers are funding green energy projects and offsetting carbon emissions from their flights, despite 56% of respondents knowing what the practice meant, according to a CAA survey at London Stansted Airport (The Guardian, 30-AUg-2010). Nine per cent stated they have taken fewer flights over the past 12 months on environmental grounds, while 3% stated their choice of airline was affected by how environmentally friendly the carrier is.
