Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) previously warned the Working Holiday Maker (WHM) programme faced slower processing, with work and holiday visa applications paused for 24 partner countries, and said WHMs spent AUD4.4 billion in Australia in 2025, urging the Government to clarify the programme's future direction1. TTF also called for greater certainty amid delays and pauses it said put tourism businesses, regional economies and future visitor demand at risk2.
