Thai AirAsia previously planned to cut frequencies or suspend multiple Bangkok Suvarnabhumi domestic routes between 28-Apr-2026 and 30-Jun-2026, reducing overall seat capacity by an average of 30%.1 CEO Phairat Pornpathananangoon cited jet fuel prices having surged more than threefold as the key driver for optimising operations, including temporary route suspensions.1 The carrier had launched Bangkok Suvarnabhumi services to Chiang Rai and Nakhon Si Thammarat from 01-Oct-2025, and to Surat Thani, Narathiwat and Buriram from 01-Jul-2025.2 3
