Tashkent Islam Karimov International Airport opened a new cargo complex with capacity for 120,000 tonnes per annum, significantly increasing its previous throughput, and began phased cargo infrastructure upgrades, including expanded cooling areas and warehousing, to support this growth. Uzbekistan Airports reported a 23% year-on-year increase in air cargo volumes in 2024, reaching 87,000 tons and capturing almost 44% of Central Asia's air cargo market share1 2 3.
