TAM finalises order for 32 A320 aircraft, including 22 A320neo

TAM Airlines finalised (20-Oct-2011) a purchase agreement for 32 A320 aircraft, comprising of 22 A320neo and 10 A320 Family aircraft. The order follows a MoU signed in Feb-2010. A company spokesperson stated the "Fuel efficient aircraft are key to our fuel conservation programme and to our contribution to the industry's CO2 emissions reduction". To date, TAM has ordered over 200 Airbus aircraft, including 27 A350-900, and operates nearly 150 Airbus aircraft to 43 destinations. The order is worth more than USD2.8 billion on the basis of Airbus's list prices. TAM will announce its selection of engine at a later date. [more - original PR]
