Taiwan temporarily raises daily Mainland tourist quota to 6,000 per day

Taiwan Entry and Exit Authority temporarily increased the daily quota of Chinese Mainland tourists permitted to visit the island from 4,300 to 6,000 per day between 15-Mar-2010 and 02-Apr-2010, in response to increased demand ahead of the upcoming Tomb-Sweeping Day/Qingming Festival (Xinhua, 16-Mar-2010). The Authority adopted the same temporary adjustment for the Spring Festival/Chinese Lunar New Year in Feb-2010, to handle approximately 35,000 Mainland visitors over the nine-day period.
