Taiwan Taoyuan Airport to resume handling transit pax from 25-Jun-2020

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, via its official Facebook account, announced (24-Jun-2020) it received approval to resume handling transit passengers from 25-Jun-2020, following a temporary prohibition on transit traffic since 24-Mar-2020 due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The following restrictions and conditions will apply to transit passengers at Taiwan Taoyuan:

  • Transit passengers only permitted to stopover at Taiwan Taoyuan for a maximum of eight hours;
  • Passengers travelling on services to and from mainland China are not permitted to transit through Taiwan Taoyuan;
  • Passengers are only permitted to transit through Taiwan Taoyuan if they are travelling on connecting services operating by the same airline group;
  • Only passengers travelling on services operated by Evergreen Group, China Airlines Group and Cathay Pacific Group are approved to transit through Taiwan Taoyuan at present, with additional airlines to be approved in the near future;
  • Transit passengers are permitted to shop at duty free retail outlets but must be accompanied by an airport employee.
