Taiwan air pax up 8% in Oct-2011

Taiwan's Ministry of Transportation and Communications reported air passengers across Taiwan's airports increased 8.3% year-on-year to 3.5 million in Oct-2011, the highest level in five years. Details include:

• Passenger numbers: 3.5 million, +8.3% year-on-year;
  • Domestic: 879,928, +17.3%;
  • Cross-Strait: 623,551, +18.6%;
  • International: 1.9 million, +2.9%;
• Cargo volume: 145,538 tonnes, -8.7%;
  • Domestic: 2873 tonnes, +17.9%;
  • Cross-Strait: 12,104 tonnes, +3.8%;
  • International: 76,494 tonnes, -10.9%;
• Aircraft movements: 32,329, +8.1%;
  • Domestic: 14,725, +7.1%;
  • Cross-Strait: 3811, +25.1%;
  • International: 13,793, +5.3%.
